Student

We are young minds that trust you
We are eager to learn and eager to please
We will believe whatever you say
We are impressionable, and untainted
We are the working class, just the average Joe’s
We dream of a better tomorrow because We have been told it’s within our grasps
We are the ambitious, but undisciplined students.
We are the under paid, over worked masses; of the mediocre, middle-class
You taught us dream, but not how to fight
You patronize our efforts, and belittle our goals
You command respect and disrespect our intentions
You claimed our community college education was a joke, our ambitions laughable
We will silence the critics in the world, so that we might silence the critiques in our minds
We will wear our education like a coat of armor or badge of honor
We will be advocates for higher education and a role model’s for self-respect
We will be a students of the world, and humble servants for the greater good.,
